NDE Clarke
Transmissions has been the UK partner of Voith Turbo Kusel Coupling solutions for
over 8 years. This partnership has been
built on extensive technical training,
industry experience and customer service.
This means
we can offer all the advantages of highly
flexible couplings with all the vital
technical support and assistance our
customers need.
TORSIONAL VIBRATION
When does it occur?
Torsional vibration problems occur with
internal combustion engine driven systems
such as Pumps, Compressors and Generators as
well as in Vehicle and Marine propulsion
systems.
Torsional vibration occurs when the natural
frequency of the drive train is coincidental
with the torsional vibration frequency of
the prime mover (normally the engine)
driving at normal operating speeds.
When
this occurs the drive train can experience
transient torques well in excess of its
design specification and this can lead to
excessive noise and vibration problems and
in the worst case complete drive failure.
VOITH
TURBO KUSEL COUPLINGS
How to
cure the problem of torsional vibration?
The
introduction of a Voith Turbo Kusel Coupling
into the drive train will alter the natural
frequency outside the normal operating
speeds (normally below). By combining the
torsional flexibility of the rubber elements
with varying degrees of damping a Kusel
Coupling can be selected to suit almost any
application.The
Kusel Coupling comes with a multitude of
different mounting options to suit any
mounting configuration. The Couplings can be
supplied complete with Cardan Shafts to
offer a powerful combination of torsional
and misalignment flexibility, in one
Coupling/Shaft package.
