Over more than five decades, NDE Clarke Pitchline has developed an enviable track record and client list in the aerospace sector which seeks new solutions to cope with growing electrification alongside demands for ever greater speed and efficiency.

NDE has pioneered the development of compact, high-performance gearboxes – operating at up to 50,000rpm – which provide reliable, verifiable high-speed ground-based testing of critical components such as fuel pumps, turbines, spindles, generators, permanent magnetic alternators (PMAs) and high-speed motors.

These gearboxes can be incorporated into custom-designed drivelines including full electrical drive systems, drive stands and fixtures, conditioned oil lubrication and associated couplings, providing a complete turnkey solution.

NDE is also able to provide both non-destructive testing, and destructive testing for attributes such as fire resistance performance. 

Our testing capability is complemented by our own proprietary wireless condition monitoring package, Defendr software suite, which provides real-time, remote analysis of rotating components used in aerospace testing. Drawing on our extensive experience in failure mode analysis and machine understanding, Defendr software suite allows convenient scheduling of maintenance.

Our aerospace capability extends into other applications such as designing and manufacturing mechanical handling systems for rocket launchers, and power transmission systems for controlling rocket launcher towers.

All systems are designed and manufactured in-house, using high-specification materials and coatings, by our expert team who will install and commission the system as well as providing ongoing maintenance and support.
